stuttering while streaming mkv files

hi i have an ok pc

i2500k
8 gig mushkin silverline
470
7200rpm 32mb cache hdd


while streaming hd content it runs ok but tends to skip/stutter after awhile until i pause and unpause

any advice?

I am connected to my router via my onboard realtek at 1gigabit and stream wireless to my ps3 using a draytek 2800 router in mixed 11b+11g+11n mode.

HELP ME PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEE

When the stutter happens, open UMS on the status page; is the transcoding buffer all empty?

If it is, at least you can forget the wireless being your problem.. for now. Which encoder is your primary?
Do you need subtitles? If not, you can run tsMuxeR, which won't stress your computer doing the transcoding.
If you need subtitles, and run MEncoder, you could try to lower the video quality under Common transcode settings.

It's a trial and error thing.
