True Motion issue

Post by screwdriver »

I really enjoy using UMS and recently found out about the true motion option. I am having problems getting it to work properly though. The problem is that the playback of the movies are super slow and they stutter a lot! I am streaming it to my PS3 by a wired connection.
I checked off all 4 boxes in General Settings, under Avisynth/mencoder. Also I have installed K-lite Mega Pack.
Could this be the limitations of my cpu hardware? I'm running an Athlon X4 2.8ghz with 12gb Ram and GeForce 8600 GT.

Also, all of the movies run perfectly fine under mencoder.

Any help or suggestions would be great.

And thanks for the awesome program!

Hi screwdriver,
It probably is a limitation of the hardware, but you can confirm this by watching the buffer on the Status tab while you are playing a file. If the buffer is always low then it confirms that the CPU isn't fast enough for true motion.

hey subjunk,

yah, looks like my cpu is the culprit. when I stream normally my buffer is 80MB, but with true motion active it slows down to 1MB.
thanks for the reply!
