Subtitle (SRT) files duplication problem. Dispays subs from previous videos

Post by duronrulez »

Hello,

I've recently started using UMS, because of a problem that I've had with PS3.
Which is whenever i try playing videos/series sequentially after some time the subtitles from the previous movie/episode plays over the current one. So it appears like 2 subtitle files are loaded at the same time.
I have experienced this problem while using PS3 as well, but i thought after switching to UMS this would be gone, as it seems to be still updated.
My TV is Samsung - Smarthub TV.

Any help on the subject would be appreciated and if you need me to upload any screenshots jutst let me know.

Thanks :)

I definitely think you should upload your logfiles so the developers can have a look at it.

Follow instructions here.

Hello, i have uploaded my log files.
Basically i change between series, and the problem occurred again roughly 20-25 minutes into the second video.
The problem being the subtitles from video 205 loaded inside video s02e01 and started displaying both subtitles around the 20-25th minute mark. Help :(

What version do you use?

I had this problem a while ago with my samsung tv, but the current version 5.2.2 works properly without this problem.

Jens

Hello, i am using the latest version - 5.2.2.
I either cannot configure the UMS properly or there is a bug in the software of the TV (as this same issue happens when i use PS3 media server).
Still, any other thoughts would be appreciated :)

I've seen the same issue a few times before.
However I've never had full logging enabled at the time it happens.

Glad to see im not the only one experiencing this.
For me it happens every time i watch more than 1 movie/episode though :/
I've attached full logs (i think they are full, correct me if not) in one of my previous posts.

In log I see:

Code: Select all

Sent to socket: CaptionInfo.sec: http://192.168.0.101:5001/get/180/subtitle0000.srt
Try to reproduce your problem and when you spoted it, check log and open subs file directly in browser:
Sent to socket: CaptionInfo.sec: http://192.168.0.101:5001/........
Display or download it and check if the file is same as original file D:\s02e09.srt
It seems two subs are somehow mixed or at some time other one loaded? Can't say but http srt version can make a clue.
Also your log is full of exceptions: java.io.IOException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host
Also it will be great to post a time when TV shows subs correctly and when it starts mix up so we can direct sight on exact time in the log if different file is not loaded (maybe nothing is logged but different file reloaded what http version from different times should show).
