UMS v6.5.1 (Windows) works with VLC for iOS.
Although, it will only work for one session (i.e until I restart VLC or until I put the device in SYBY) then when I use VLC again it goes back to showing a screen with no folders.
I have to close down UMS and restart it to make it work again and so on.

Yeah it works well for me too just not reliably... We have an idea of why it is like this and it's just a matter of doing the fix now

BUMP: Any progress in fixing VLC for iOS upnp playback?
I am using the latest version of VLC for iOS and UMS.
VLC recognises the UMS server, but do not display any content.

Its still the same here. iOS VLC, no content displayed... but it worked 1 time. I downloaded VLC for iOS, I started... no content. So put the iPad aside without quitting VLC. Later I opened the lid again and tatarata... content! And all the movies where playing smoothly. But after this 1 time, it didn't happen again.

Yup, same issue for me every other dlna server tested has no issues. Its specific to ums.
Tested ums 7.0.1 on Ubuntu and Gentoo
VLC 3.0.2

Is this working now?
tried with UMS 8.0.1 and vlc for ios 3.1.7 but when I click the server there is a loading wheel (on ios) forever. nplayer lite on same device works fine
