Subtitles issues

Post by louis54000 »

Hi,
I have issues with subtitles (external srt):
If I choose FFMpeg, subtitles show up perfectly for a few minutes, then disappear, and reappear. So half of the text is not showing up.
If I choose MEncoder, they show up all the time, but twice (see attached image)
I'm using UMS 5.3.0 on Windows 10, fresh install (using "Sony Bravia EX" renderer)
Here is the log http://pastebin.com/XKBPFmSg
Any ideas how to fix this ? Thank you,
Louis.

Please can you try the latest UMS SNAPSHOT? You can download it at http://universalmediaserver-ci.hopto.or ... APSHOT.exe

Hi, sorry for the late answer, but I get an error 404 with you link. I'm going to try with UMS 6 beta.

With mencoder, try disable "Use ASS/SSA subtitles styling"

So I tried disabling "Use ASS/SSA subtitles styling" and it solved part of the problem : I don't have twice the subtitles anymore, but the text size changes every 500ms or so (once normal size then bigger, and normal again...).
I tried the snapshot, I didn't change anything either.
Here is the debug log with the snapshot http://pastebin.com/qrgTZcyU

Ok, that's weird.. i have no clue why it does that. Sounds like a bug

Byt the way..to the developers: the double subtitles / using ASS/SSA subtitles is might somehting you should have a look at. It's a bug that's been there forever.
