Roku 3 media player fails

Post by charlie25466 »

There are other threads on this but none helped and they are older. Sorry if this seems redundant

My Roku 3 is sees UMS, recognizes folders and sees videos but will not play them. When I try to play I see a downloading for about 5 seconds or so then get a Roku message that says, "Not able to connect to universal media server. Check your connection."

Log follows:

10:55:51 INFO Stopped playing Pedestrian Detection (PD) Toyota Safety Sense Select 2016 Mo.mp4 on your Unknown renderer

I have settings to "Unknown Renderer"
I have tried to force the renderer to Roku 3 (NSP 5) but get same results.
I have tried setting the transcode settings to exclude mp4 from transcoding.

In every case, I get the same results

Thanks for any ideas.
