You have to use the "No Transcoding" option in the Transcoding folder. Keep in mind that PS3 doesn't support MKV files with embedded DTS audio and subtitle files. My PS4 wouldn't let UMS transcode through Mencoder or FFmpeg either. I asked for support on this issue a few days ago but it seems rather quit here lately. You might also try Plex in the meantime. It should support almost any type of video file. I would but I have to update my Mac OS first to instal it.
