[SOLVED] UMS cannot play many vids, serviio can!

Post by Sami32 »

Cool 8-)

I will need your MediaInfo log with frzr.doctor720p.mkv, nothing appear in your log as this kind of informations is only logged if a scan is done or a new file meet.
Anyway, a MediaInfo log will be much better.
Right-click on the Dr Strange video and choose MediaInfo.
In View tab select "Text", and in Debug tab select "Advanced mode".
For export this log, just click on the green arrow with a "i" letter, and post it there.

I don't know if you intended to have a copie of this movie ?
frzr.doctor720p - Kopie.mkv
frzr.doctor720p.mkv

Note: Please, add [SOLVED], as i have done as an example in my post, in front of your issue title in your first post. Thanks.

Oh, i see. That video have a 5.1 AVC level, and in your TV manual, it's said that the maximum level supportred for FHD videos is 4.1, only UHD videos can support up to 5.1 level.

So use that renderer:
Samsung-9series.conf
(3.72 KiB) Downloaded 423 times
UMS don't have yet the possibility to the H264/H265 level choice option per line in the renderer configuration file.
But as converting 10-bit level 5.1 video ask a lot of CPU use, meaning that it need a powerful computer to avoid stuttering.

Enjoy ;)

it works! Perfect =)))))
i am not sure if i understood u right (i am from germany). Did u configurat my render file so, that it converts the 10 bit level 5.1 sound? I start the movie and my cpu use only 10% to render. seems not so heavy.

Most time, i use my yamaha avr to play the sound on my 5.1 System in dolby digital or dts. Do i lose this soundline with the new config file?

Try with that one:
Samsung-9series.conf
(3.9 KiB) Downloaded 441 times
As i saw in your log that the new AVC level status was not activate in your log, though i withdrawed it from your renderer configuration file. So, i activate it with a new value. That's weird that the default values don't get back on your computer, except if you replaced your renderer without shutdown UMS; anyway try it and give feedback.

To answer your question above, no, it's only affect videos.
10-bit level 5.1 video
I'm not an english native as well ;)

Though you never take consideration to read our Wiki and correctly configurate your audio/subtitles parameters...

Better ;)
Withdraw the unecessary spaces and choice

Code: Select all

deu,off
or

Code: Select all

ger,off
, same in your subtitles line configuration, as they refer to the same language code (ISO 639-2).
Don't worry, UMS will care for it.

In "Transcoding Settings" tab go to "Video settings" sub tab and select "Enable GPU acceleration".
In "Transcoding Settings" tab go to "FFmpeg" video files engine and select "Enable multithreading".

After that try restart UMS and try again, if no improvement is seen, i'll give you an other renderer configuration file.

no improvement. gpu acceleration is now checked, multithreading was always on

maybe the movie is just to big? 30 gb... most movies i play are around 6-9gb

is there a way to "preload" or buffer more frames at the start?

I didn't really expected that could, but it was worst a try before send you a new renderer configuration file:
Samsung-9series.conf
(3.93 KiB) Downloaded 466 times
Yes, it's a huge one ;)

Hoping that it'll do the trick, as i'm short of bullet after that.
