Renderer Shows in UMS but DLNA server missing from TV

Post by delgarz »

About a week ago UMS stopped working for no apparent reason. UMS would load and recognize the TV as a renderer but the icon wouldn't change to a TV. The DLNA server was completely absent from my LG TV as well. After much troubleshooting and checking the UMS log file :D I finally found the culprit. I had installed NMAP (Zenmap) around the same time UMS stopped working. When this program installed it also loaded an NPCAP Loopback Adapter under network connections. UMS appears to have selected the Loopback Adapter instead of my wireless connection. Please excuse my ignorance if the previous statement is not correct as I am not a coder. After disabling the loopback adapter & a UMS restart everything started working again. I am posting this in case there is a way that UMS can select the proper adapter better and to help others in case this issue crops up in a similar form.
