Does the same happen if you set the default player to mencoder or ffmpeg?

Initially threw the same error until I closed and restarted it......then audio was out of sync....ffmpeg; worked no errors and audio was in sync.....this all seems rather strange as this was working on Saturday with VLC and no problems. BTW, this was on Linux which is preferred option.

Ok....for some reason ffmpeg is the only renderer working but the picture us somewhat dark....re enabled vlc same error and have attached another log...this seems odd as the only recent linux update has been a new kernel...

Have tried UMS 2.6.2 and 3 alpha on another PS3 (which is wireless) same errors, http error for vlc, and data cannot be played for mencoder...ffmpeg ok.

Downloaded latest version of PMS :shock: and this works setting the default renderer to vlc, which I assume it auto detects from my own install.

Ok. update on this.....have removed alpha version and now seems to be working, however 2 things,

1. Even though Mencoder is the default renderer it still plays using ffmeg, if I disable ffmeg then Mencoder works....seems rather odd.

2. The no input that was appearing in the log, seems to emanate from the USB drive I'm using...why I don't know because the drive is Ok and a movie will play in vlc, as this appears to be intermittent I'm not too worried, this is what appears in the debug log;

ERROR 2013-06-08 11:10:41.625 [mencoder-12] Error initializing process:

If I select another movie to play and it does then I can go back to the original movie and it plays....it's as if there is some sort of delay from the USB HDD.
