Re: Channels Plugin

My mistake. It works after restart.

But I'm curious to understand how comes that the plugin continues to work for all other folders except the single one (SVTPlay)? How comes that it sort of "remembers" to exclude this single folder even after I totally restart to browse from the TV (even reconnect the TV from scratch)? It's like there were a cache (in channels) of the folder structure that has been corrupted. Might it be that way?

Some renders does "remember" stuff. UMS does "remember" stuff to but should normally re fetch the list from the server (SVT in this case) . IT might be Channels has a bug that means the a refresh is missed. But a restart normally does the job.

I am new to UMS......I installed the latest version recently on a windows server 2012 r2

Followed the wizard and the installed the channel plugin via the manager

I do not see any valid channels from the ps3

I don't mind installing manually

Is there an official set of instructions that I can follow......I saw the first post in this thread on page 1 .....but that is from 2012.. Not sure if it is same or outdated

Any help would be appreciated......thanks so much

Hi.

I cannot see SVTPlay A-Z anymore. No media in the subfolders (renderer hangs). The archive still works. Updated svt.ch to v0.92 but it doesn't help. Before I start to debug, am I alone on this problem or is it SVT that has (once again) updated the web-page?

Note: I'm still on UMSv3

pen - svtplay works for me. Try and restart after you've updated the .ch file.

Without debugs there is not much I can do. So pls attach logs...

I have restarted UMS and I have also restarted the TV several times (unplugged it).

I attach the logfiles.

Edit: Added the channels log.

.... so this probably shows the problem and it might be something wrong with Samsung. This is an excerpt of wiresharking.

When pushing the folder ABC:

So, the TV asks for the parent folder 0$6$7$10$1$32 again instead of the pushed 0$6$7$10$1$32$1

Appearently, the TV mixes up the relations between the folders presented on the screen and their paths - but only sometimes. I cannot see that UMS is really making anything wrong.

Can you see anything in the first reponse that could confuse the TV up?
Any clue why this happens for all folders within the A-Z folder but never in the Oppet Arkivet folder? What is the difference between these???

Well, doing the same trace in Oppet Arkivet folder I can see that there seems to be a "carrige return" ending the title of the last folder when going into A-Z, but there is no corresponding "carriage return" ending the title of the last folder when going into Oppet Arkivet!

Did you rembember that you made a patch for me for exchanging "/" with a ":" in a title? Now I suspect Samsung has the same problem with <CR> but this meta character might not be possible to replace with the patch you introduced (since it will become a line separator in the config file).

Who is the one putting the <CR> there? Is it already at the SVT home page or is it Channels that put it there?

pen- Your TV might be partly to blame. But lets test two things first.
1) Test with the web interface (part of any 4.x release). If you can browse and play via that it should work.
2) Try the "wild and crazy" branch 5.0.0. I have changed the id handling quite heavily there and could change somethings in this aera. It might be that UMS knocks away it's own legs here.
How do you try 5.0?
