Itunes library loading

Post by jazzy1986 »

Hello, I started using UMS today. I think it's an excellent software besides being free, which is even better. However, after playing with it all day I have a few questions:

1. During the installation of UMS, it asked to use certain amount of memory for cache or something like that. How do I change that after installation?
2. If I chose to load Itunes library, does it parse the XML file every time during startup or just once then cache it? because everytime I start UMS it brings my laptop (Sony Vaio Core i5, 4GB RAM) down to it's knees. UMS takes up 90% of the cpu. My system temperature shoots up from 50 degrees to 92 degrees.
3. I am trying to use UpnPlay from my Android phone to access UMS from WAN and UpnPlay times out waiting to get response from UMS. UMS log shows the connection from UpnPlay.

It's an excellent piece of software. Keep up the good work.

I verified this. I have a 70,000 songs iTunes library. UMS loads the XML file everytime it is started. Therefore a heavy load on the system.
