Xbox External HDD Issue
I set up Universal Media Server to watch videos on my Xbox and it works fine when viewing files from my local video folder on my computer, but when I access my external hard drive it seems like I'm losing connection.
When I first access the external I am able to play videos to a certain point, but once I'm in through so many folders, the Xbox tells me that there aren't any videos when I know in fact that there are. After that, when I back out of those folders, it suddenly tells me that there are no videos in the previous folders, which were working fine before.
I've tried accessing my external on my PS3, and it works just fine.
Has anyone else had this issue and able to help?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Xbox External HDD Issue
Try this:
Start --> Power Options
Select your power plan and go to "change plan settings"
Then click on "Change Advanced Power Settings"
Scroll down to "USB Settings" (assuming your external HDD is USB...)
USB Selective Suspend Settings
Plugged in: Disable
What this is doing is telling the computer to not loose USB connectivity to your pc to "Save power".
You can also do this in Computer management
Device Manager --> Universal Serial Bus controllers
Go though each of the USB items and in the Power Management tab uncheck the box: "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
