This is a Samsung LED Series 7 TV. I have been fighting a lot with PS3 Media Server and now with UMS to find a way to scale videos to fix the monitor (1280x720). For some stream the scaler was not working (0x00, your Video Scaler setting) and format not supported was the error message appearing on the screen.

At the end I discoverd that for this type of tv the renderer Samsung SMT-G7400 is working much better and the scaling is working smoothly.

The only issue I've encountered is the following error message in the log file:

Process /opt/ums-2.6.5/mplayer has a return code of 1! Maybe an error occurred... check the log file

but I don't know if it is related to the render type or it is a bug. I did not noticed that in PS3.

Conserning the error about mplayer I have temporary solved by substituting mplayer with the one in /usr/share/mplayer

what were the Version differences between the two mPlayer versions?

MPlayer svn r34540 (Ubuntu), built with gcc-4.7 (C) 2000-2012 MPlayer Team
