I can't see any of the files in my movies folder

Hi guys,
Really new to this, have linked UMS to my tv through our Fetch Box and it is registering there, but the folder I've shared "Movies" doesn't have anything in it.
It also doesn't register having anything in it in UMS on my laptop.
Any help would be great, I feel like I'm meant to be creating a renderer or something but not sure how or what that is!
