I am also having this problem with the current episode of Boardwalk Empire from evolve. The audio during the recap plays fine but when it starts the credit and show the audio gets all weird.

I went back to using PS3MS Subjunk build 1.40.0-SB44 (yeah i know, old, but it was always working great for me so i never updated) and it played fine. Recap is in stereo and when credit starts it switches to Dolby Digital.

Yeah older versions played the files but you will notice they also output the audio only at 2.0 whereas it is supposed to be 5.1.
I recommend using the FFmpeg engine for playing these files, because that will output 5.1 properly.

By the way, all versions of UMS prior to 1.4.0 had the same behaviour in this situation as SB44, so feel free to upgrade to UMS 1.3.0 if you want, or like I said in the other post you can use FFmpeg

I mean that using PS3MS Subjunk build 1.40.0-SB44 on the episode would play the 2.0 audio and transition to 5.1 and also output 5.1 to my receiver. It didn't stay at 2.0 when the audio switched during the episode.

Are you sure? Because I tested it after seeing your post and it output 2.0 Dolby Digital for me.

I checked again and it showed 2.0 in the display of my ps3 and receiver during the recap but when the opening title credits started it switched to 5.1 on both the ps3 display and the receiver.

Can you attach your debug.log after playing the file?

OK I see what went wrong now. I have fixed it in the next version (either 1.5.3 or 1.6.0)
