UMS on wired LAN cant see ps3 on WAP. Same subnet. Can ping.

Post by maranos »

So I run a pfsense router/firewall which then goes to a linksys WAP. The media server is hosted by a system that is connected to the LAN via ethernet, and the PS3 is accessed thru the WAP.

I can ping my PS3 just fine, but when I fire up UMS it says no renderers available and the PS3 shows no media servers. Same subnet and everything, ports in windows firewall for UMS are open.

Any suggestions?

I use pfsense as my firewall/router by the way, but since it's all local it shouldn't really have any interaction with the router right?

At any rate it does have UPnP enabled.

Maybe you're blocking discovery ports? Check viewtopic.php?t=1090&start=50 for a discussion on ports/protocols involved...
