Re: After restarting the computer, UMS is no longer visible on the TV
I notice you're using JRE 8, can you please try uninstalling that and installing JRE 7 to see if it makes a difference?
Re: After restarting the computer, UMS is no longer visible on the TV
Ok, I uninstalled everything in programs and features starting with 'java', which included JRE 8 32bit, JRE 8 64bit, something from old JRE 7 and a couple of old JDK 6 patches. Then I installed JRE 7 from the oracle website (update 76).
Surprisingly, this solved the problem. I have tested transcoded streaming using a movie with external subtitles and it's fine. I must assume, then, that the reboot was merely coincidental - a Java upgrade must have happened before or after that reboot (I click through those without even registering them, sorry - I even untick the ask toolbar on autopilot).
Meanwhile, I noticed also that in the forced renderer tests what was registering as the TV was actually the router, so those tests didn't work either. Absolutely no luck with the JRE 8.
Do you need more logs?

I'm pretty sure I upgraded to JRE 8 back in january when it reached end of life, so it's unlikely that every JRE8 version has this issue...
Or do you think there was a conflict with the old leftovers I had here?

Maybe it's the same problem. (V. 5.1. to 5.1.1)
As far as I remember a Version minor 5 had no problems but im not sure
Details:
Server "MyServer" with folder "MyMusic"
I used "net use X: \\Myserver"
I added the UNC-Name and the used name
\\MyServer\MyMusic
x:\MyMusic
First I saw both, but after a reboot of the PC I just see my local share.
I'll install 5.1.2 and tell you the result within the next days
Any Help?
Felix

Re: After restarting the computer, UMS is no longer visible on the TV
This morning I started the UMS-Server ("MyUMS").
an hour later I switched on the TV (Sony).
"MyUMS" was listed including the local share.
Neither the mapped drive nor the folders of UNC-Name where listed.
Yesterday after updating V. 5.1.2 they were listed.
Perhaps its an effect since V. 5 - but I'm not sure.
