Showtime 4.2 at PS3

Post by agmarco1967 »

I have updated Showtime (on PS3) to 4.2 but I still (last 3 versions of Showtime) have problems running media like ISO's, etc.
In UMS you see the bitrate jumping sky high (>90.000) and the screen stays black on the TV.
The log says the user-agent is not recognised.
More people with this problem? And better yet does someone know how to fix it?
Thanks!

Yes, I can only confirm this problem.
But I think it's both a Showtime and UMS problem.

On my set-up the last Showtime version that worked fine in combination with the latest UMS was 4.1.387... higher Showtime versions were broken (I may have skipped some versions, but all in the 4.1.4xx range basically were broken)
If I use Showtime 4.2, I have to downgrade all the way back to PMS 1.60.0 (!) to get it to work

You are using new ShowTime version which is not recognized with UMS.
Change Showtime3.conf file in renderers folder to:

Code: Select all

UserAgentSearch=Showtime
#UserAgentAdditionalHeader=X-AV-Client-Info
#UserAgentAdditionalHeaderSearch=Showtime 3.0
Your renderer should be detected. Maybe some renderer conf tuning will be needed later.
Anyway I suppose Showtime supports any container or codec so files which doesn't work, add its extension to this line (eg. mkv) in Showtime conf:

Code: Select all

StreamExtensions==mkv
EDIT:Fixed copy paste error - "StreamExtensions=" x "TranscodeExtensions="

Thanks for the replies. Showtime is recognised but still having problems.
I' am using the older version of Showtime now in combination with the latest version of UMS.
It works for the moment.

Ops, sorry
You should change

Code: Select all

StreamExtensions=mkv
and not

Code: Select all

TranscodeExtensions=mkv
The TranscodeExtensions line should be without any extension 8-)

I've added new renderers to differentiate between Showtime 3 and 4 here

Thanks Subjunk and others,

Showtime 4 is recognised but the files it shows don't play.
I mean mkv, iso, etc.
The screen stays black.
With my desktop PC Windows 7 and notebook i7 Windows 8 the same problem.
When I look in the debug mode of Showtime it shows (read error -1)
In UMS I see this in the log:

Can you attach your debug information using the "Pack debug files" button on the Logs tab?
