Problem with german forced subtitles

Post by Starchild333 »

Greetings,

i set up the pms in it works quit fine with my ps3.
I only have one problem left.
I am not able to play german forced subtitles if needed in a movie.

subtitlepriority is tagged: off
Forced language: ger
forced tags: forced
azdui/subtitles language priority: ger,off;*,ger;*,und

Sadly they wont come up when streaming.
If i am using VLC on the computer where the file is located it works fine - so the forced subtitles seem to be embedded.

I am not shure but i remember reading just "en" instead of "eng" in "forced language" while default is still active.
Is der maybe another language-code needed?

I am also not sure if the tag is right. I ripped the file on a german Laptop using german language in the programs needed.

When i use MediaInfo it says: "Forced: ja"
When i use MKVtoolNIX/mkvinfo it says: "Schalter für erzwungene Anzeige: 1"
When i use MKVtoolNIX-GUI it says: "Erzwungene Anzeige" or "Anzeige erzwingen: ja"

I tried to type in all the "Forced tags" but nothing worked :(

Sure I can still use the #transcode#-folder but with a lot of audio-tracks and encoder its a pain in the .... .

Could anyone give me some advice?

This part is invalid - off is not valid 2char or 3char language code:

Code: Select all

subtitlepriority is tagged: off
Some more info:

Btw. Forced info in MediaInfo is not the same how UMS detects forced subs.
In Matroska container you can mark subs if they are forced or not (TRUE/FALSE or YES/NO)
But UMS detects them by subtitle flavor. This flavor must be defined in external filename or internally in Matroska container as "Track Name" on selected subtitles.
This flavor string is by default "forced" string.
Provided link is quite old but still enough to understand the logic. 8-)

ExSport I think it would be useful to update the UMS Wiki with some of your comments not only this but also your comments about the languages settings. Can you help us and make some comprehensive output to be included in the Wiki to avoid to make references to the old and maybe in the future not existed pages?
