Getting new OLED TV, time to ditch PS3?

I'm getting the LG 55B6V or 55B7V, I see they support DLNA and I have a few questions.
1. Does streaming directly to TV offer better quality than streaming through PS3?
2. Does it work simply by just plugging the RJ45 on the TV, instead of the PS3?
3. Is there anything else to consider that would make the PS3 the better option still?
