Re: No AAC audio on MP4 files UMS (10.5) Rev.2 - SOLVED?

If you want to try and improve your conf file, try downloading some test files which have been encoded in various formats and using different codecs. Play them using the "no transcoding" option in the #--Transcode--# folder. If the video plays without issues then you can add that codec to ...

Re: No AAC audio on MP4 files UMS (10.5) Rev.2 - SOLVED?

Try this conf file, I copied the supported line from another conf but removed the references to AAC. Just copy it to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Universal Media Server\renderers" and restart UMS. I have given this one a higher priority so this should be used instead of the included one. If you...

Re: No AAC audio on MP4 files UMS (10.5) Rev.2 - SOLVED?

You could make modified conf for the WesternDigital-WDTVLive.conf that is currently being used so that UMS will transcode only videos with AAC. It appears that the one included with UMS is quite old and does not tell what formats are supported, just file types. I was not possible for the developers ...

Re: No AAC audio on MP4 files UMS (10.5) Rev.2 - HELP!

From what I can see in the logs, UMS is not transcoding and is just streaming the files directly to your receiver without changing anything. Maybe something has changed with your receiver (has it been updated?) or the way the videos have been encoded by YouTube or by the software used used to downlo...

Re: Suggestions for a device that supports copying

I do vaguely remember that you can copy a stream to the PS3's hardrive instead of playing it, which is good for seeking when the original file has to be transcoded. Can't remember how but I think pressing triangle on the video brought up that option. Practicality I don't see much use of it though as...

Re: Unable to select audio/subtitle track on PS3

The media player on the PS3 does not support subtitles or multiple audio tracks however as a workaround UMS can transcode the file with the required audio track and burn in the subtitles into the video. You can set up the subtitle language priority in the common transcoding settings but trying to ge...

Re: Movie not playing on Samsung UHD 7100

Looks like UMS is trying to transcode that file as it thinks your TV does not support the codec used. That file uses Codec ID : dvhe Codec ID/Info : High Efficiency Video Coding with Dolby Vision which is one I have not seen before. (maybe something to do with HDR :?: ) It is a good chance that the ...
