In the case where I use the bluray player as the dlna client, do you expect it would pass the edid info from the tv to your server?
Or that it would pass info indicating its own playable resolutions?

24 fps pass through?
My LG 4K TV and Sony BluRay player are both DLNA compliant. The Sony can upscale video to 2160p very nicely as long as the video is 1080p at 24 fps.
Can your server pass through such files without converting them to 30 fps?
