Same here.
After being idle for a while, UMS hangs.
It disappears from the other devices, not even the user interface will come up anymore.
A restart solves this - for a while. Then the same happens again.

Bad enough, but my ( state-of-the-art) Samsung TV has problems to show ( or scale ) large images/photos.
Can I use the universal media server to scale images before they are sent to the TV ?

I see that UMS is being run on a FreeBSD jail.
Anyone to share some info on how to do this ?

Installing Java and ffmpeg is fine, but what else needs to be done ?
