Ok, so the live subtitles folder is in fact a fake folder just like the transcoded one.
When it reads {external subtitle} it means that it is using the .srt that is in the same folder, right?
My UMS crash if I try to use live subtitles though. Movie never starts.
I am attaching the debug log just ...

Thanks for your reply.
In most cases the mkvs that I play have no subtitles embed, so I use a .srt file with the same name.
Now UMS is picking those files, but I am keeping them in the same folder of the media file.
I dont know what a live subtitle folder is, but will check now.

It looks like setting Audio/subtitles language priority to *,und will result in the srt files being used.
Is UMS downloading subtitles for movies or just showing the ones inside the mkv?
