For those with Play-Fi speakers that wish to use UMS as their DLNA server.
I've spent some time figuring out the renderer conf file that seems to work well.
I set the loading priority to 2 as it needs to supersede the VLC for Desktop conf file.
Hope this helps someone ...

Re: Play-Fi renderer support
the attached renderer conf seems to work.
I was not able to figure out how to use Mediainfo and supported audio format statements.
But this seems to work for me.
The other issue might be around the user agent search match

Play-Fi renderer support
I just purchased a new receiver. the Anthem MRX720. It supports Play-Fi which seems to be a competing standard to Airplay. There is an iPhone app you can download. The app finds the receiver and treats it as a speaker that it can stream media to. In the app it can find DLNA media servers and does ...

Re: UMS FLAC support for ps3
Thanks for the reply.
I think i just experienced the 2 channel being "damaged" by the receiver when it should be treated as 6 channel.
I just got a new receiver and the same 2 channel DTS encoded wav's don't work anymore. Meaning new receiver is not playing them correctly. Old receiver does play ...

Re: UMS FLAC support for ps3
I think the issue is that my Flac files were 2 channel with DTS encoded in them. Not sure if that is the right way to say It. When correctly sent to the receiver they play as 6 channels even though they are technically two channels.

Re: UMS FLAC support for ps3
In the PS3 media server days it was working under audio section. For a while it was working under audio in UMS as well.
Under the video section I don't see flac's as play-able. They don't show up for me.

Re: UMS FLAC support for ps3
I have my PS3 connected to my receiver via the S/PDIF connection.
I used to be able to play DTS Flac files correctly when the MEncoder audio engine was available as an option back in the day.

Re: UMS FLAC support for ps3
Not sure if anyone cares about surround music anymore. But if you have any DTS encoded flac files the only way I got mine to work with the latest versions of UMS are to do the following;
1.) convert your FLAC files to wav files
2.) Disable the ffmpeg audio engine and the "Audio high fidelity" engine ...

Re: UMS FLAC support for ps3
old thread I know. I've been trying to get my 5.1 DTS flac files to play on UMS and can't seem to be able to figure it out. On PMS back in the day it worked fine. And I think I remember having to use MEncoder to get it to work. However UMS doesn't seem to list MEncoder anymore under the "audio files ...
