I found that actually unchecking "Common Transcode Settings > Subtitles Settings > Use embedded style (uncheck)" worked for me. Counterintuitive, i know, but worth giving a shot.

When i try to watch on my TV the subtitle styling doesn't work. The subtitle will load and show, but it doesn't work properly.
