Disabling the "Enable External Network" setting resolved the port contention. It has also resolved the issue where I have to resetup the streaming devices after restarting UMS.

I have verified that while UMS is not running that both port 5001 and 9001 are not in use. I have verified that while in use the javaw.exe program is utilizing both ports. The error persists in the log stating 9001 is already in use, but as already stated, is not in use until I start UMS.

Is this the line in the log that had you come to this conclusion?

ERROR 2017-12-13 06:05:21.457 [main] net.pms.PMS FATAL ERROR: Unable to bind web interface on port: 9001, because: Address already in use

Ah, so maybe I should try to have UMS run on a different port than the default? It wants to run on 5001 correct?

What in the log I posted indicated there was more than one instance running? I can't find a program or service that would indicate that is the case.

I have checked the task manager and I only see one occurrence of Java(TM) Platform Library with the UMS icon. I assume this is the program?

It does not have un-install as an option. It only says "Install as a Windows service"

I don't have it installed as a service, that I am aware, and I have tried un-installing and re-installing UMS. The setting to "only run a single instance of UmS" is checked in the settings.

I have purchased a new computer and installed UMS. For some reason on this new computer I have to re-setup every streaming device to recognize UMS after my computer or when just UMS is restarted.
