I agree. The ps4 version is more or less unusable compared to ps3. I'm using ps3 for all streamed media.

I have the same issues as you AlGrenadine. Also i must set static ip on the ps4 and on the server or im getting disconnected every 20 minutes or so. Isn't transcoding kind of slow on the ps4 to? PS3 starts much faster.
Would love to be able to put away my ps3 but it's still better to use when ...

It's only with transcoding FF / RW is an issue. Cheers for getting it to work though

Since I went back to 5.1.4 i havent had any more problems of UMS crashing ... that being said Ive also stopped running anything else with it like download clients etc ... so far so good.
I have set a static ip in the UMS options field for the server (computer) too ... Im runing 32bit windows 7 ...

I just joined to post my views on UMS and the PS4

I updated to the latest version UMS and only manage to get through 20 mins of any TV show im streaming from my computer before it totally crashes UMS ... the only way to make it work again is to hit the restart server on UMS and then it will work ...
