Hello,
this topic is already discussed very often in this forum. As a solution disabling the Windows firewall was allways suggested.
This also works in my case, but i think it is not usefull to run a Windows PC with a disabled firewall.

Can anybody tell me why only LG TV's in conjuction with UMS ...

I cannot show pictures (jpg-files) with Kodi.
The thumbnails are shown, but clicking on the picture file the screen is black.

For testing reasons UMS and Kodi are running on the same PC.

meanwhile I am able to show my pictures in the PSE structure on my TV :-)
But the full tree generated with pms.addCmd will be shown and executed only in the video xmb branch.
In the xmb picture branch I get the message: "No pictures" at the last leaf.

jumpstart is really a good help to understand the funtions (API) of jumpy.

Now I'm going to start generating a jumpy script out of a PSE database by use of tcl.

it would be nice when UMS could support the sqlite-database of "Adobe Photoshop Elements".
Then it would be possible to view photos which are marked with tags and also grouped by events like "vacation 2014".
