Interesting to know that it uses a different part of the TV software via USB vs. Network.

As I said, its presently stable via network... if it doesn't stay that way I'm gonna loose it I have a 'pile' of things to watch over my holiday break

I changed java versions back to 7 and it still disconnected.

I managed to locate an update for the firmware on my TV and ran that - since then I've been able to run thru 3 hours of shows without a disconnect (still using 5.3.1 Java7).

Wondering if something changed in the codec that was causing ...

Version 4.1.3 disconnects as well. Do these versions share any files if I am installing them in different directories at all ?

I can't think of any changes at this point either - I was using a powerline->ethernet converter and it was disconnecting and now I am using a straight ethernet connection ...

I did and it disconnected, so it was a random thing that caused it to work.

As for the version I'm thinking I may have just neglected a few updates I'm going to try the 4.1.3 version as I found that installer here from when I rebuilt my PC a while ago.

Well, 4.4.0 disconnects as well... Not sure how far back I should go... but I didn't think I was having issues that far back.

I've attached the debug stuff from 4.4.0 just in case. Also likely contains debug info from the 5.0.1 and 5.1.4.

Problem was still present in 5.1.4 (Java8 ver) and using the same file/video that worked 100% thru last time I tested.

Trying 5.0.1 shortly...

UPDATE: 5.0.1 disconnects as well.

Going to try 4.4.0.

I will try to get an older version installed shortly to test it out, just swamped with work.

Will also try to re-watch the episode that went thru completely and see how that goes.

Silly question, where can I get older versions I'm happy to go back a few versions and test it as my kids let me have my own TV

This was the first time in a while (months) being able to actually watch anything in its entirety yes. I was previously able to watch tv shows and movies in their entirety but not for a few months at least.

I re-did the "test" after removing the C/D renderer and restarting UMS. I managed to get thru a 45m episode and when I started another it bombed out within 3-4m tops.
