Tried to deinstall 7.0 version. Installed 6.7.4. Does show up in Activity Monitor, but does not show splash screen or anything else. After deleting everything from Users/name-of-user/Library/Application Support/UMS i was able to start, but although the distribution file name is 6.7.4., UMS shows 7.0 ...

Since i had a similar issue, i found this one. I solved it by deleting "root" as one of the folders in tab "Navigation/Share Settings"/Shared Folders. It looked as though it did something recursive, so i wonder whether there is a bug. But anyway: delete some values there, and try to set a specific ...

UMS hangs during boot (logo)
I just tried starting UMS to watch a movie, but it hangs showing the boot logo. I have uninstalled it and decided to try the 7.0.1 beta, but this gives me the same. When starting UMS, the console shows me

Fyi: downloaded UMS 5.4.4 again, ran it, and have no problem playing the mp4's giving me problems with 5.5.0. (btw: the icon for the samsung looks nice in 5.4.4., and much less so (more generic tv simple icon) in 5.5.0 - don't know whether it has any relation)

Sorry, thanks to pointing me to those instructions. Tried to comply with all the steps. When i pick "Create Trace logs", i don't see the GUI change to TRACE, so i picked TRACE from the drop down. I manually restarted UMS (checked TRACE is still the value in the drop down). And clicked Pack debug ...
