Re: Web Cams and UMS
Great topic deflanko. I started to experiment a little with xupnpd on a Raspi (so a live stream can be announced as a DLNA stream apicked up by standard renderers with no native IPTV capabilities). Will surely share my results once I get it working...

Re: Server on different subnet from player
I checked with Meraki, and there is no way to forward multicast traffic across VLANs on my firewall. Is there anything else I can do, or just put everything on the same VLAN? I doubt there's anything to do if you need to keep that network topology. Why do you have separated segments? Security, rout...

Re: Server on different subnet from player
I have configured the routing to allow all traffic between these 2 subnets, so everything should be allowed, but I still can't see UMS from the streaming devices. Would it be beneficial to forward those two ports from each streamer to my UMS server? I doubt it will work, as SSDP service (the basis ...

Re: Server on different subnet from player
Has anyone been able to run UMS on a different subnet from the host devices? I have been unable to make this work so far. My server has a fixed IP set via DHCP reservation, and inter-VLAN routing is allowed. Do I need to set up port forwarding from the hosts to UMS and use DHCP reservations for all...

Re: Samsung Smart TV not finding UMS
Wolfgan would you happen to know how to change the Java because I'm having the same problem with my smart tv as well. Just edit the rule mentioning Java and change the program path to the newer Java executable (see http://www.howtogeek.com/112564/how-to-create-advanced-firewall-rules-in-the-windows...

Re: Samsung Smart TV not finding UMS
If you're running UMS on Windows, most likely is the firewall rules (Java installer sometimes leave them pointing to an older Java version instead of the new one). Just edit them to point to the new javaw.exe location.
