Re: Exclude/Hide selected folders and content
Would not the UMS.conf settings: # Ignored folders # --------------- # A comma-separated list of folders to ignore. # Example: C:\\IgnoredFolder1,C:\\IgnoredFolder2 # Default: "" folders_ignored = And # Ignored folder names # -------------------- # A comma-separated list of folder names (r...

Re: Add HTTPS functionality
web_player_https = true The keygen command should be a bit different. keytool -genkey -keyalg RSA -alias selfsigned -keystore UMS.jks -validity 360 -keysize 2048 **above is without "-storepass password" so it asks for a password when the certificate is created.** The password to use is &qu...

Re: 13.1.0: Metadata for all languages!
I have found 1 issue in the web interface. (Linux headless server)
Server Settings
Navigation Settings
Virtual Folders/Files
Show the "Media Library" Folder.
Changes to that show as changed in the web interface but in UMS,conf "show_media_library_folder =" does not get changed.

Re: recommend blu-ray player?
I use LG Smart TV's these days.
Prior to that I used LG Bluray players which worked good with UMS.
But.... If you do not want the DVD/Bluray function, I think there would be better options like an Android box as suggested by mik_s.

Re: can UMS handle an external USB HDD?
The USB port would act just like any other. When windows accesses the USB port, it becomes active again. I have never had occasion to have to unplug and plug in a USB device to activate the port. Best thing would be to install UMS and see how it goes. There are settings in windows where you can chan...

Re: can UMS handle an external USB HDD?
From windows, how do you normally access your USB RAID array. Does it have a drive letter assigned to it? Or by some other method? I would think you would have a drive letter assigned to the USB RAID array. If this is the case, you would just put the media file locations in the UMS configuration. EG...

Re: can UMS handle an external USB HDD?
I have UMS on a Linux server and all my media files are on a RAID array (BTRFS) and work fine.
That said, the UMS program and database etc are on the operating system drive. (Only the actual media is on the RAID array).

Re: 13.0.1
I have just installed v13.0.1 on my Gentoo Linux headless server. The problem of not being able to save changes to SERVER SETTINGS from the web interface still persists. This has not been resolved as yet? After doing some testing, it seems that the SERVER SETTINGS to get saved but the pop-up message...

Re: Server not found via remote connection.
The router does not need to have 2 antennas. In your TP-Link C20, it has an option for a guest account. You enable the guest account. There are options in the guest account to: Allow guests access to my local network yes/no In the guest network settings you setup a new SSID and new password for the ...

Re: Server not found via remote connection.
Do you want visitors to be able to access movies etc from UMS?
If not, you can setup a GUEST NETWORK on "router 1" (TP Link C20) which still gives them internet access but allows you to isolate your local network from users logged on to the GUEST NETWORK.
