Re: How to change the renderer for a given device?
I do the following which has worked well for me. I rename the "renderers" folder to "renderers.original". Then create a new "renderers" folder. Then copy only the *.conf files that I use from the "renderers.original" folder to the "renderers" folder....

Re: LG NanoCell on Latest WebOS - Doesn't See UMS
Can you confirm that your computer running UMS has an IP address of: 10.23.1.116
Also, perhaps try uninstalling UMS and try an earlier version (V12) of UMS.

Re: How to get UMS to work?
A search on the internet (search: universalmediaserver java avast) finds several issues like yours.
Some reported that uninstalling java and installing java again fixed the issue.

Re: How to get UMS to work?
Quite some users have had this problem because of different subnets as mik_s says.
A quick way to check is to look at your TV and check what IP address it is using and look at your computer and check what IP address that is using.

Re: Videos suddenly not playing normally, ALL file sizes now gone
I would think your USB2 drive is fast enough.
A USB2 drive can do 480Mbps and your TV can only do 100Mpbs.
If... The USB2 drive is operating OK.
Maybe you can do a speed test on your USB2 drive.

Also you need to attach your log file:
Like this: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=556
After putting UMS into trace mode, play one of the files giving problems and then post the logs.
Take UMS out of trace mode afterwards.

Re: Videos suddenly not playing normally, ALL file sizes now gone
It sounds like maybe your video files were previously streaming and now transcoding.
To test go into the transcoding folder for the videos in UMS and choose "No Transcoding" and check if the vidoes can be played.

LG-WebOS conf
I notice that your default LG-WebOS.conf does not include streaming for FLV video files. I have had my LG-WebOS.conf file set to stream FLV video files for a few years and it works fine on the 2 LG TV's I have. Perhaps it could be added to the default LG-WebOS.conf file. Supported = f:flv v:h264|mp4...

Re: filename convention(s) for multi-episode videos
I do mine like this which works fine:
seriesName S01E01-E03.mkv (I use a space rather than the dot in the filename).
I don't have any series with 2 episodes that cross season boundaries, but I think this would work fine:
seriesName S01E22-S02E01.mkv
