SUGGESTION: Separate Subcategories for each Media Renderer
Hi,
I wonder if anyone else is having the same trouble finding specific information for a specific render in the Media Renderer category.
I'd like to suggest building a subcategory structure for every renderer currently supported and a catch-all category for "new/unsupported" renderers.

Ensure the ums and config directories are 775; ensure debug is 777. Configure ffmpeg, mencoder, etc with explicit path to binary...

Re: Roku 4 Support
Just purchased a Roku 4 "thinking" I would be good to go with a little tweaking one of the Roku 3x confs on v5.5.
No Joy. Able to get the Roku 4 recognized (Roku/4400X) and can browse directories and even see both "cover" images and an image captured from the video. However, that's it, just sits at ...

Sony Bravia KDL-40W5100: No longer allows ffmpeg since 4.x.x
Since 4.x.x I no longer have the option to render with ffmpeg; mencoder is the only option displayed to render video.
3.6.4 works as desired; both ffmpeg and mencoder are available to render video.
The renderer is a Sony Bravia KDL-40W5100 TV.
I use MKV file types exclusively.

Re: 4.0.x and FFMPEG no Longer an Option
Thanks Pen, will give it a try. On a similar front I did find a ppa that stays current with the latest 4.x.x and it did require a few additional libs, but alas still no joy. I wonder if there is something about 14.04 - I have noticed some weirdness with other java apps that I didn't experience with ...

Re: 4.0.x and FFMPEG no Longer an Option
Thanks Pen, I indeed did try the UMS bundled ffmpeg to no avail. When you say "You are missing a number of libs in your build compared to 4.1.2", can you elaborate? I have (I thought) enabled most, if not all, relevant ffmpeg features. I would be curious to know your compile command and the version ...

Re: 4.0.x and FFMPEG no Longer an Option
Good thought Pen, but going back and forth between 364 and 4.xx, still 364 displays and plays as before - 4xx no joy with displaying ffmpeg. Now on 413, still no joy; 364 working like a champ.
