Re: Is it possible that........???

For sure when you play any video with subtitles it will be slower (more cpu intensive) than without.
I would doubt that internal/external give diffrence - depend of engina thaty ou use. If it was diffrenet then I would submit bug for that engine.

Re: Help with UMS

try to disable your firewall (probably windows firewall), if UMS will be seen by PS3 then its firewall fault and you need to make rule for UMS.

Re: UMS 3.0.0 won't play any mkv's without stuttering on PS3

I had few problems with some files because there were badly encoded.
Best option is to pass debug.log here (delete it before you try, start ums, play that faulty file on ps3, wait till fail, close ums save debug.log)

Other solution could be that your cpu is not so fast.

Re: Trying to run on Headless Machine (server)

Im using headless installation (UMS 3.0.0-final) on ubuntu server 13 64bits, and it works ok. Had crashed because of low memory, but i changed it to 1024MB and will check in few days. Im having few issues with hardcore encoded files :-) with exotic profiles etc.. but with others there is no problem ...

Re: FFMPEG does segmentation fault

i use the buildin version in 3.0.0-final.

It dose give me segmentation fault on manual execution (on 64bit version of ubuntu) but It still works when streaming O_o
If you dont want to use it just re/move it from ums dir and install your ffmpeg onto your machine.

Re: Mplayer thumbs

UMS use dcraw, you need to enable mplayer in config to make thumbnails
