Re: HT-J5500 won't show external subs

From what I can understand, the "special Samsung subtitle treatment" is deducted from Samsungs own DLNA server . What you could try is to install this software and see if subtitles work there. This software probably lacks a lot, but determining if subtitles work there could help determine if the HT-...

Re: HT-J5500 won't show external subs

You could transcode them so that UMS renders the subtitles in, but then there are the normal trascoding issues with missing fast forward etc.

Re: UMS suddenly undetectable by Xbox One

I see from your log that your running this on a VM, and you have defined two network adapters for this VM. The one with the "invalid" IP address is called "Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter #2", while you have a real IP address at "Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter". For some reason, UMS lists "Hyper-...

Re: HT-J5500 won't show external subs

Before I forget, thanks for the help so far, Nadahar. I'm not sure if I've actually helped this far :? I have no renderer to test this on, and I'm not very familiar with this part of the code, so I'm afraid I don't have much to add here. From what I can see from the log it does seem like UMS offers...

Re: HT-J5500 won't show external subs

It could very well be because of that. Running as a service is a Windows term, a service is a special kind of "program" in Windows that run without any user context and can be started as soon as the computer starts (before any user login). This makes it handy when you want to make sure it's running ...

Re: HT-J5500 won't show files with external subs

What about the two instances issue? Have you installed it as a service?

Remember to restart UMS when you make configuration changes in the renderer profiles.

Re: HT-J5500 not recognized and won't show files with external subs

I see a couple of problems in the log so far. First of all, the failure to rename the old log file to .prev usually indicates that you have several instances of UMS running. The most common reason for this is if you have installed UMS as a service. If you have, please uninstall it as a service and r...

Try following the red text above, and someone might be able to figure out what is going wrong.

Re: HT-J5500 not recognized and won't show files with external subs

Follow the text in red above to produce trace logs. Even though you can't try to play the missing files, browsing the folders where they are will generate logs for them containing the decision to hide them.
