Re: UMS not showing up on oppo player network
I don't consider most of the terms developer specific, but I'll give you a quick recap (google could have done the same for you): UI = User interface, ie. the part of any program that you interact with - usually in the form of one of more windows that you can close, minimize etc. Most of what a prog...

Re: UMS not showing up on oppo player network
That was a problem I've never seen before, it reports running out of heap space - and that Swing (the UI) can't find the Java binary. I'm not familiar with OS X configuration and Java installation, but it seems to me something is wrong here. Is your Java installation as it should? It might be worth ...

Re: Recommended settings?
I've been thinking of trying to do some anonymization of the logs for a while, but it's really a huge job. The reason is that there's no way to recognize the "sensitive data" from the rest, the logs themselves are made from hundres of different places in the code, and people often have the...

Re: Recommended settings?
What other devices? I have too little information here, I don't even know if you use the GUI or run headless. You don't have to remove renderer profiles to disable them, you can do that in the GUI or in UMS.conf. To get a better picture of what is happening I need you to submit debug files. Follow t...

Re: Recommended settings?
As long as you use BubbleUPnP that is communicating with UMS - the player is just playing the media files delivered from BubbleUPnP. In that setup you wouldn't use VLC's own DLNA implementation. I don't know how well that would work, I haven't tested it, I just know that "the usual" setup ...

Re: Recommended settings?
No, and VLC's DLNA implementation isn't the best either. I think BubblePnP + MX Player is a good choice for Android, and with the configuration I linked to it should work as well.

Re: Recommended settings?
Seeking often doesn't work while transcoding (I'm not 100% sure why because I've seen it working under some circumstances). There's a renderer configuration file that controls what should be transcoded and not, and what you want to do is to get as much as possible to stream directly without transcod...

Re: Suddenly cannot find renderers
I doubt the problem was with the installed Java versions either, is if they weren't compatible UMS wouldn't have started. When you run the Java installer on Windows, it will (re)create rules for the Windows firewall that lets (all) Java programs through. I'd say your real issue were probably with Wi...

Re: Suddenly cannot find renderers
You can configure UMS to use a different port if that is really the problem.
