Re: AVI files not listed on BRAVIA KDL-32EX700
I dunno who is responsible for the .conf files since version 6.72 but the have buggered them for the Sony EX series since version 6.72. The renderer is totally wrong now. You can either download version 6.72 or earlier or try adding this to the "Sony-BraviaEX.conf" file TranscodeExtensions...

Re: Version 7.6.2 released

And while we are at it go through ALL other old .conf to check in the last dozen or so versions if any mess ups have happened in others. I gave up regularly updating ages ago as every new r...

Re: Version 7.0.0 released
The Windows releases work on Windows Vista onwards. We are working on supporting older versions. Why put energy and time on that? Stick on 7+ for now, XP is not secure and should go. Meanwhile I will try to find someone to package it for a QNAP NAS. XP is NOT the only OS prior to Vista, there was W...

Re: recommendations for new renderer
Whatever you buy if you are intent on a Bluray player check the model has a renderer conf file first. Manufacturers have a habit of updating models yearly or more often just for updating sake. My opinion would be if you do not want wifi, catch up TV services etc from the bluray player but still want...

Re: Aspect and Crop issues on ALL SONY and potentially other devices possibly finally solved????
Update... Replace the OverrideFFmpegVideoFilter previously mentioned with this... OverrideFFmpegVideoFilter = pad=max(iw*1.01\\,ih*1.01*(16/9)):ow/(16/9):(ow-iw)/16:(oh-ih)/16, setdar=4/3 The altered "(ow-iw)/16:(oh-ih)/16" part of the above code allows older divx and xvid codec encoded v...

Re: Aspect and Crop issues on ALL SONY and potentially other devices possibly finally solved????
Great post Paradox :) I'd just like to mention that there's no need to reinstall UMS if any of the renderer configuration files are "lost" or edited byond repair. The latest version of those that ship with UMS can always be found here: https://github.com/UniversalMediaServer/UniversalMedi...

Aspect and Crop issues on ALL SONY and potentially other devices possibly finally solved????
FIRST.... WARNING follow any of this wrong and you may have to reinstall UMS, this tinkering is not for new users or those that have any doubt what they are doing when following the directions. Failing to read carefully will result in failure So a little history first some devices have never displa...
