Re: Renderers Help!
Could you post your logs showing these being played so I can see why UMS is choosing to transcode them? (see the section in red above)

Re: Disambiguation help for new user
I don't know the details of how metadata is retrieved but I know it goes off filenames not necessarily the folder names, so if you have renamed and abbreviated your files then UMS cannot make a match to online services like opensubtitles and TMDB, IMDB etc. If the match is ambiguous like films from ...

Re: How to disable transcoding for only AVC H264 mp4 files?
There is no conf for browsers anymore as they are hard coded to use one format in the web player. It uses HLS which allows seeking with transcoded video plus a load of extra stuff that was not possible before. Everything will be transcoded using this so the web player only needs to support that one ...

Re: How to disable transcoding for only AVC H264 mp4 files?
This is set up un the renderer conf file for your device. If it is transcoding h264 when this is a supported format then it is using the wrong conf or there is not one for it yet. If you post your log files (see the section in red above) I will be able to see what it is using and tweak a similar con...

Re: Having trouble configuring virtual folders
In the web settings go to shared content and click the "+ Add new shared content" box.
There you can select virtual folder as type then fill in the details you want it to appear as. Then you can keep adding folders to appear as a single folder in UMS- Mon Feb 05, 2024 2:23 pm

Re: Merge Subfolders within Virtual Folders
Should be easier to do in "shared content" in web settings now.

Re: Q: "Maximun bandwidth in Mb/s"
As transcoding has to be done as fast as possible it is not very efficient so creates a lot of data and this setting limits how much network bandwidth to use by lowing the quality, which is useful if you have an old slow network. Also some devices might not be capable of transferring data at the sam...

Re: File reproduction issues.
This is odd. Maybe something is going wrong with the HLS playlist. Try creating new logs so I can see what is happening.

Re: x265 10 Bit
Glad that works. Those conf files should stay even when updating UMS as there are no existing ones to overwrite them. You might still get the odd problem video that does not play right and the conf can be tweaked to fix it. Ideally proper confs will need to be made that are accurate with what they s...
