There was some dude who had similar problem, he made it work by changing the port number in UMS (general configuration tab) from default to something else.. for an example.. 6001

1. can you ping your xbox from the computer UMS is running?
2. Are you using firewall?, try disabling it and test again.
3. Try upload your debug.log

I experienced if UMS is showing all drives (default)..sometimes it can take a while for UMS to start up
