Re: UMSBuilder 1.7.1 is released
Just would like to make a couple of comments here. First, you should mention that the JDK included is 32bit, which means this won't work out-of-the-box for those with a 64bit only system. Second, the permissions are all wonky. This is probably due to the packaging all being done within windows. Thir...

Re: MKV Embedded Subtitles
For subtitles, you need a recent version of FFmpeg that has support for libass, that is the library for handling the subtitles. You'll also need freetype. As far as HLS/HTTPS--the https portion will require gnutls or openssl. I'm not sure if HLS needs anything else as I'm not familiar with it.

Re: Audio and subtitle priorities
Under the 'General Configuration' tab, uncheck the 'Hide advanced options' box and then restart UMS.
Alternatively, when browsing on your PS3, enter the special transcoding folder for what you want to
watch and choose the encoding/audio/subtitle option from there.

Re: UMS 3.3.0 - FFmpeg
2.0.1 should be recent enough. You had mentioned earlier you were using someones copy of the rather old 0.10 release but now you are saying the one bundled with UMS isn't working? I think you need to make it more clear what exactly you are trying. You also need to check the debug log to see if it is...

Re: UMS 3.3.0 - FFmpeg
It's not a text glitch so much as it is you using an outdated and unsupported version of FFmpeg with UMS. Your old version doesn't support the arguments it is attempting to launch with so it reports a generic missing executable error instead of a report that explains the actual problem. The code con...

Re: UMS 3.3.0 - FFmpeg
On linux, the installed FFmpeg is at /path/to/ums-3.3.0/linux/ffmpeg.
What I do is rename that to ffmpeg.bak and then make a symlink to my system ffmpeg.

Re: [Solved] UMS in Fedora 20 : no tray icon
Sounds to me like you are going about this somewhat wrong. Systemd supports user services along with system ones, and since you appear to want to access UMS with a specific user, you should configure it as a user service. Install your .service file into /etc/systemd/user/ instead of /system/. Then t...

Re: Connecting at low speeds? gigabit wired
Have you done a speed test on your PS3 to verify it's not a general network condition? My PS3 had an issue where it would only act like it was on a 100mb connection with my routers. Then I plugged it into a 4-port gigabit hub and it finally saw proper speeds with the same routers. I suspect some PS3...

Re: Fontconfig making massive subtitles?
I see that a lot when using FFmpeg. Mencoder doesn't have this issue for me.
