Re: Roku support
I did a bit more playing with a fresh git pull this morning and the latest Roku renderer files. It looks like it has a lot of bits added that I had experimented with previously. For my situation with the steaming stick, it seems the problem is outside any tweaking in this file. By that I mean it doe...

Re: UMS on CentOS 7
You may wish to mention that 9001 is optional as that is the web interface and that can be manually disabled by adding "web_enable = false" to UMS.conf. Secondly, user created service files belong in /etc/systemd/system not /usr/lib/systemd/system. You should also mention that "system...

Re: Roku support
I did some playing around this evening on my Linux box with my Roku HD Streaming stick which is similar to the Roku3. I tried a few different DLNA servers with the official Roku Media Player app and here is a short summary: Plex DLNA Media Server ==> plays some things; jerky starts, transcode w/ sub...

Re: Access UMS from another PC
It depends what you want to do with UMS remotely. I use Remote Desktop to update and configure the server remotely, and then forget about it till next test build. If you want to access content, then v5.0 will include a web server for universal client via a web browser. Didn't the web server go live ...

Re: 10 bit video support?
Should work fine when using transcoding. I've not had any issues watching many 10bit encoded anime.

Re: Version 4.0.0-a1 is released
I made the switch to ffmpeg some time ago and the reason was that there were a lot of files that didn't play in mencoder. FFmpeg had subs issues (no support basically) but now it supports subs (at least the once I use). Anyway it is just the default encoder that is switched. If mencoder is better f...

Re: UMSBuilder 1.7.1 is released
Is 64-bit Linux unable to run 32-bit applications? I run 64-bit Windows and it has no problem compiling using 32-bit JDK. Yes, it can if setup to do so, that is why I said 64bit only, for people like me who eschew having 32bit binaries and libraries on their precious and pristine 64bit boxes ;) Yea...
