Re: Version 6.2.0 released
Those builds of FFmpeg update every day so it's not something that needs to be checked in my opinion. You know that every day there will be a new one, and we usually include a new FFmpeg with each UMS version. i'm sure you do your best. but still, it's a simple thing for you to make i'm sure and wo...

Re: Transcoding Shouldnt all video be transcoded to the highest you renderer support
if you use jumpy with kodi, you set things up in kodi 1st like prefs and login info. Jumpy is just a url resolver, it doesn't do video quality and such. it takes kodi plugins, parses their url and feeds it back to ums. So open up kodi and set your preferences for your plugins you have installed, lik...

Re: Tips for adjusting transcoding settings?
is it possible to get videos that are encoded at 23.97 fps to play clear on a 50hz/60hz TV ? there's a lot of judder in shows. i mean here in north america its pretty much the only thing we get 23.976 fps but we all have 50/60hz tvs. you'd think the big companies trying to force broadcasters to get ...

Re: UMS on tablet
the Kiano Intelect 8 3G MS only has an atom cpu right ? no, most definetly it won't be able to transcode anything (i have an asus vivotab8 with z3745 in it) also your wifi card will just burn out quicker with this kind of back and forth heavy traffic. i wouldn't even dare with a 2000$ Micro$oft Surf...

FFMPEG and other decoders as plugins is it possible?
FFMPEG is pretty much the basis for ums to work. it is activated upon install and set at 1st priority for decoding videos.
it would be a good idea to have ffmpeg use the same update mechanism as the plugins to detect updates and have a simple fast sure way of updating it when things break.

Re: Jumpy Plugin (26 February 2016)
I updated to latest ffmpeg and it works now. This needs to be in a FAQ/Sticky somewhere Perhaps, but the bug was introduced into ffmpeg source code on Jan 16 and fixed on Jan 31, so it only applies to ffmpeg builds between those 2 dates, i.e. only for current UMS package. Next one should be fine :)...
