1. Your log says it cannot create the directory "/var/log/UMS/Richard".
I would say that the permissions are not allowing UMS to write to this directory.

2. It looks as though you do not have libzen on your server.

3. Also looks like libmediainfo is not on your server.

Can you check those and install them if not installed.

Is this file "libzen.so" located here: "linux-x86-64/libzen.so" on your system?

And this one here: "linux-x86-64/libmediainfo.so"

Tmuxer comes with ums.
In the UMS.conf file you can add the path.
....../ums/linux/tsmuxer

Yes, you are 150% correct ! TSmuxer is in the Linux folder....................it is the 64 bit binary, BUT the error that UMS gives in its graphical interface is saying that the tsmuxer is mixing, error 127 and needs the 32 bit.
Once I get home I will put the screen shot...........

The other thing is, as I said a few times, some files will not play at all "cannot connect" error on the TV, when other files connect and play.

There are too many things loose in this Frankenstein, sorry, it is a reality.
I insiste, on WIN 10 runs so good....................

UMS is very badly packaged for Linux. That said, we tried to make instructions for it a couple of years ago: https://github.com/UniversalMediaServer ... structions

Linux is a pain for developers because nothing is standardized. What packages you need and what scripts to edit etc varies from distro to distro, and there are literally hundreds of distros.. On the page I linked to there's an attempt to cover this for the most common distros.

As far as I remember tsMuxeR is only compiled for 32 bit for Linux. tsMuxeR isn't open source (although the author once said he would open it) and it has been abandoned for some years now, so there's not much hope that there will ever be a 64-bit version for Linux built. Because of this, you need to install some parts of the 32-bit subsystem for Linux. Distros that have dropped 32-bit support all-together is a lost cause when it comes to tsMuxeR as far as I know.
