Problem with subtitles

Hello!
I'm using UMS version 8.0.1 on macOS Majove 10.14.4
Not sure is it OS related but when i try to add Bulgarian subtitles they are not prober shown. I think the problem is the encoding but i tried with Windows 1251 and ISO-8859-5 /both Cyrillic/.
They way i add the subtitle is i edit the subtitle to be the same name as the movie.
movie.mkv
movie.bg.srt
Is it possible the problem to be from the TV?
I'm using Samsung 5 Series
