Version 7.0.0-rc1 released

General:

The 7.0.0 version adds new features to dynamically sort your media, most notably there are new "TV Shows" and "Movies" folders that are populated automatically with content from your shared folders.

Your feedback on this release candidate will be valuable, so let us know how it is working for you!

Note: This is a release candidate, which means the feature list is complete and it should be stable. It is likely to be the last non-final release of 7.0.0.
Note: It is recommended you take a backup of your profile directory before installing this, as the changes to the fully played data are not reversible. The location of your profile directory are near the top of the "Logs" tab in the program.

i've tested this new version its working fine i've tried all kinds of things from PHotos to Videos on the ps4 media player. the playback is very good and the sound quality is very nice too, even Videos with subtitles are ok and with good sync. other thing that i've tested are kinds of formats all of them from mkv to mp4 worked flawlesly either is sd, hd or even in 4k. the image is sharp and crisp and the color reproduction was awesome showing a lots details in colors, i almost forget that my tv is a full hd cause the image is so clean make me the impression that even lower resolutions are higher. so far i have encontered no bugs or disconnections and the instalation process was ok too and finaly the software worked very smooth on my wired network with a minor hiccups.

thanks a lot i really liked and i can tell that is a lots a efforts to put this software to work this good keep up with the good job until next time. ;)

Thanks for the new release. Seems to work fine on the PS3.
Fixed support for Xbox 360
I was hoping this might solve my 360 issue, but I guess this was a fix for an unrelated issue. My problem is that certain files refuse to play on the 360 in newer versions of UMS, but they play perfectly fine on my PS3. Currently I have to use 2 different instances of UMS; the latest for the PS3, and what I believe to be the last mostly working version for the 360, which is 2.6.5.

Considering how old this issue is, and how old the 360 is, I'm not sure if there's any interest in looking into it. If there is then let me know and I can provide logs from the different UMS versions on a problematic file.

Thanks for the new release.

Working fine so far, just a minor glitch.

Thumbnails arent working any more and therefore the fully played mark isnt shown too.

Is there any way to resolve the following in v7.

Although I have the following in UMS.conf:
hide_recently_played_folder = true
The Recently Played Folder is showing on the renderers. Anything extra required in V7 to hide this folder.

The Media Library folder is also showing and did not show in previous versions. Is there some way to hide this folder?
Any suggestions.

Thanks

Hi boss, the settings that we "hide" before are now "show", as of 7.0.0

Hi SubJunk,
Does that mean that they cannot be hidden now?
If they can be hidden, can you tell me the text for the conf file to do so.
Thanks

They can be hidden now but it's just the opposite of before, for consistency. So the following two lines are equal:

show_recently_played = false
hide_recently_played = true

That worked.
This it the text used in my UMS.conf file.
show_media_library_folder = false
show_recently_played_folder = false

Thank you for the information.
