hi subjunk! i've tested this new version 7.1.0 on the ps4 media player using the standard model not the ps4 pro. it worked fine for me i watched a bunch of stuff and listened to some music without any disconnections or memory bugs, the playback is also fine with a wired network with no stuter or audio out of sync the sound is also fine. transcoding videos also worked ok comparing the lastest software this new version is the best so far very stable and clean.

thanks again for this new release keep up with the good work. :)

I can confirm I am suffering from the same issue as J_345 has stated on my PS4. I was trying to watch a 1080p video file but it would constantly crash to the "cannot read file" screen every 10 minutes or so. I have reverted back to 7.0.1 and the same video file runs without a hitch. I think I'll be sticking to 7.0.1 for good amount of time.

that's odd for me is just the opposite i had a lots of problems with the 7.0.1 like vídeos starting from the end, crashing during long pauses and continuing playing some disconnections here and there but this new one is working flawllessly no bugs or crashes. but i think maybe is duo to messing up with configurations and every person has a diffrent network in their homes.

It gets java heap space errors and crashes before starting completely.

EDIT: I deleted the data and database folders and restarted and now UMS starts OK.
What about UMS v4 and v5? It would be useful to know when the bug started for you. It would be best to reproduce it on a fresh install

I have a couple of problems trying to run an earlier version.

Since installing V7.1.0 I have updated mediainfo and libmediainfo to 18.03. To run earlier versions of UMS mediainfo and libmediainfo 0.7.79 is required. The packages are so old that they are no longer in the repository for my Gentoo Linux server.

Also when I bought my LG WebOS 3.5 TV it had issues with photo files and some videos. This was rectified in V6.4 (from memory).
I Think it is the LG WebOS TV which causes the problem so prior to V6.4 I don't think it will work correctly.

At present, I am running UMS with the cache turned off and run a cron job every 2 days to restart UMS. This restarts it before it crashes with the java heap space errors.
I have also increased the heap space to 1GB.

I turned on caching about a week ago to see how that went with V7.1.0. UMS ran for about 12 hours before it crashed. Nothing was using UMS during that time although the LG WebOS TV was on for a lot of the time.

Not sure if this is happening with others

I have been having an issue with this build,(which i have worked around by shutting down UMS), where all the movies are locked in place and i cannot rename or delete them, is anybody else experiencing this issue?

Hi, sorry to bother you.

I'm getting a "no mountable file systems" error when trying to open the mac dmg (UMS-7.1.0.dmg). I've downloaded it twice, once with Safari and again with Chrome.

I'm running OS X 10.11.6

Same problems as before... after running after a few hours it will use all memory and throttle the processor to 90%.

back to 6.8

Developing should concentrate in fixing problems instead of putting new and useless features ...

cheers
