Sorry Paradox but I retested it and it was a bad idea. For Sony Bravia TV we have to use the OverrideFFmpegVideoFilter = pad=max(iw\\,ih*16/9):max(ih\\,iw/16*9):(ow-iw)/2:(oh-ih)/2, setdar=4/3 setting. The issue is so specific that does not work for other renderers. So we should add that option to the Sony.conf
Regarding ASS subs problem I made some changes which will be included in the version 4.0.0-a2

Thank you for your efforts on the subtitle issue. Looking forward to testing them out.

Im happy enough with just having that added to my BraviaEX.conf profile. It works and that is the main thing :) The subtitle issues ive never really had a problem with though understandably subtitles and their use are a very personal thing, so yep it would be nice if you manage to improve them also :)

With regards to the OverrideVideoFilter setting, it may be worth setting up a post somewhere which documents the problem and asks others to test it on Other Sony and Panasonic devices to determine exactly what other renderers need it added. Sony is a right pain they have so many models. Just in UMS there seems to be 7 different profiles at the moment and i suspect some other models apart from the Sony EX models may well have the issue, while others do not have the problem. Panasonic thankfully is a little more simple as there are only 2 renderer configs to test.

Sony models from before 2011 i believe the DLNA profiling/formats it will do and what Sony uses is pretty much the same, models after 2011 is when i think things changed significantly.

Profiles/renderers such as the Bravia4500.conf, BraviaEX620.conf BraviaEX.conf (what my KDL40EX403 TV uses) likely all have the same issue and need the command, the Bravia5500.conf, BraviaHX.conf and others i am not sure about The HX series i am pretty certain is newer so may not have the problem. Then again it may. Would be nice to have a thread where people can test the command and assist in development and what profiles/renderers would benefit from adding it.

Keep up the great development :)

Its DLNA web interface i believe also only handles .MP4 files. So if UMS is trying to transcode to MPEG2 as default then that could be the issue. Have you tried setting TSMuxer as the default engine in UMS and trying an .MP4 file on the WiiU? That may or may not work. Im also not entirely sure or not if the WiiU may need a renderer conf file. I say not sure because of the way the Wii U uses a web interface for accessing via DLNA. Does UMS recognise when its connected to the wii via the wii U web interface and what does UMS identify it as?
The problem is that the Wii U browser could launch a player (flash error). I don't tried TSMuxer, maybe tomorrow i will have more time to test this. UMS doesn't recognise Wii U when game console is connected to its - nothing appears.

If UMS is not seeing your WiiU (IE no green tick) then that is why it does not work, a renderer file may be need for the WiiU. For anyone to help further you will have to post debug files elsewhere i suggest in here... viewforum.php?f=5 to see how the WiiU is initially identified for someone to write a WiiU conf file.

Guess that clears that up, from the wiki
"The browser itself supports HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and HTML5 elements but does not support Flash, video, and music files. However, it can play HTML5 video and audio in websites such as YouTube."

Which explains why it will not work, to do so looks like things would have to be sent in HTML5, I was pretty certain it did not support Flash.
